These terms apply when you buy products from ShieldCoat NZ Ltd (“we”, “us”), whether through our website, over the phone or by email. Placing an order means you agree to them, so please take a moment to read them. If you have any questions, give us a call on 0800 123 900.
When shopping without a trade account, all prices are in New Zealand dollars and include GST. Delivery costs are shown separately at checkout. We work hard to keep our prices accurate, but if we make a pricing mistake, we’ll contact you before processing your order and you can choose to go ahead at the correct price or cancel for a full refund. Payment is made at checkout, and your order is confirmed once payment has been received.
After you order, we’ll send you an email confirming the details. We may cancel an order if a product is out of stock or unavailable, or if we can’t deliver to your address. If that happens, we’ll let you know and give you a full refund. Product colours on screen can look different from the real thing, so we recommend checking a colour chart or sample before ordering tinted products.
The products remain ours until they have been paid for in full. Once your order has been delivered, you’re responsible for storing it safely.
Our products are designed to perform when they’re used as directed. Please read the product label, Technical Data Sheet and Safety Data Sheet before use, and follow the instructions on surface preparation, application, weather conditions and safety. Any advice we give about coverage, quantities or suitability is given in good faith based on the information you provide, so results can vary depending on the surface and conditions. Some of our products are classed as hazardous substances, so please store, use and dispose of them safely and as the label directs.
If you’re buying as a consumer, you have rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986, and nothing in these terms takes those rights away. See our Shipping & Returns page for how we handle faulty products.
If you’re buying products for business purposes, you agree that the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 does not apply, and that sections 9, 12A and 13 of the Fair Trading Act 1986 do not apply as between us, to the extent allowed by law. We both agree this is fair and reasonable.
To the extent allowed by law, we aren’t responsible for indirect losses such as loss of profit or business interruption, or for problems caused by products being used, stored or applied in a way that doesn’t follow our instructions. For business customers, our total liability for any claim is limited to the price paid for the products involved. None of this limits any rights you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act if you’re buying as a consumer.
Some of our coating systems come with a warranty. The terms are set out in the warranty document for that product, and the warranty is in addition to your rights under the law.
We may update these terms from time to time, and the version on our website at the time of your order is the one that applies. These terms are governed by New Zealand law. If there’s ever a problem, please talk to us first, and we’ll do our best to sort it out.
