Yes. Shieldcoat’s rust converters chemically transform existing rust into a stable surface, rust primers seal the area and prevent further rust formation. Once treated, a topcoat is applied for long-lasting protection and a refreshed appearance.
The roof should be cleaned thoroughly to remove dirt, debris, moss, and any loose existing coatings. Shieldcoat recommends using Shieldcoat Mossy to kill any moss or growth first, then pressure washing the roof once the Mossy has had time to work. Ensure the substrate is dry before any primer or topcoat is applied.
Shieldcoat recommends a 4 coat system. The system will change depending on the substrate. Each system consists of a primer / sealer followed by two coats of Premium Finish top coat. The first coat is applied evenly, and once dry, a second coat is applied to cover any missed spots and ensure uniform protection, especially at edges, seams, and water-pooling areas.
The preferred method is a paint sprayer for even coverage, but brush or roller application also works well. Whichever method is used, coats should be applied evenly across the roof surface, with extra attention to seams and edges.

Yes. Shieldcoat manufactures roof coatings specifically designed for the encapsulation and protection of asbestos roofs, including the specialised Shieldseal AES sealer, sealing the surface safely without disturbing the asbestos material.
It is important to note that when dealing with asbestos you should always consult with a professional and check your local regulations before disturbing anything as asbestos fibers can be very dangerouse if they become airborne.
Additionally, application of any products on asbestos containing surfaces must be done with extreme caution. It is best to apply using a very low pressure spray or a hand held brush.
